How To Be A Photographer : Photography Basic Equipments
I got a lot of questions from people, "how to be a photographer and what is the equipment needed to be a photographer?".
Actually, it depends on what type of photographer do you want to be. There are many types of photographers that you can jump into such as portrait photographer, sports photographer, nature photographer and a lot more. This is because, each photographer type needs a different equipment to start.
However right now, I will let you know what are the five basic equipments needed by a person that eager to become a photographer.
DSLR Camera
This is the main equipment needed by all photographers. I personally use Nikon D3100 14.2MP DSLR Camera . You can purchase any DSLR camera, but please make sure the price is within your budget. Before you purchase any DSLR camera, make sure that you buy a camera with 8 Mega pixels or more. This can ensure you to produce good-quality photos.
DSLR Camera is easily found in a photography shop nowadays, but if you prefer to buy it online, you can visit Amazon's DSLR Camera Store. In that site, you can read consumers reviews and the rating of DSLR Camera to help you to choose the right Camera.
DSLR Lenses
DSLR Lenses falls into DSLR Camera accessories. Nowadays, there are a lot of DSLR Lenses in the market and each of them have a different role. It depends on what object do you want to capture, and lenses can help you to achieve your objective. For example, you might want to use Macro Lens for product photography because Macro Lens can help to capture specific tiny details with an outstanding focus.
You do not need to purchase all types of lens to start involve in photography. Plan wisely and choose which lens will help you to get a photo that you need. You can visit Amazon's DSLR Lenses Store to get lenses that you wish.
Tripod
Tripod will help a photographer to hold the camera while the photographer shoot a photo. It also helps to prevent the photo to become blurry due to shaking hands. The important factor in choosing the best tripod is stability. Before you purchase any Tripod, you may want to add some pressure on the tripod to test its stability. This to ensure you will not be facing with any unstable problem when you put your camera on them later.
Another factor is the size, weight and height. If you plan to travel a lot, choosing a lighter Tripod might be your priority because it will be easier for you to carry around. The great habit you can do when you decided to purchase a Tripod is to bring your own camera to the shop and try it on the Tripod. This habit will ensure you to choose the suitable Tripod with your needs.
Photo Editing Software
Photo editing software is a software that allows it users to manipulate and make an adjustment to the photo. Some photographers use photo editing software to express their creativity, which impossible to achieve by only using DSLR Camera and Lenses.
The most advance photo editing software for the time being is Adobe Photoshop. You can purchase a license at Adobe.com . But if you're not afford to purchase Adobe Photoshop, you may want to use an open-source photo editing software such as GIMP.
Reference Manual
A good photographer regularly keeps reference manual by their side. By doing so, photographer can constantly refer the reference manual to make sure they are doing a right thing. This can be a good practice to a fresh photographer.
Personally, I used Evan Sharboneau's Trick Photography and Special Effect Book as my reference manual. I always keep them into my tablet and will refer them when I am in photo shoot session. I write a special personal review about the book, you might want to read them: Trick Photography Book REVIEW.
You may want to know why I choose the book as my photography reference manual. You will understand after you visit Evan Sharboneau site and see the amazing pictures taken by him.
